About Me

Engineering Consultant with more than 38 years of experience in Saudi Aramco working in various company sectors including Refining, Pipeline, Mechanical Services Shops, Material Supply, Inspection & Engineering Services.

Since 2010 until his early retirements Saad was assigned as an engineering consultant and technical leader of the valve engineering group part of Consulting Services Department.

On an international level, Saad is recognized as a Subject Mater Expert in the area of valves.

He is a committee member of several international standards and a board member of several association including the Valve World Conference & Exhibition.

His academics include Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from KFUPM, along with several international certificates and specialized training related to the valve engineering.

Essam A. Al-Arfaj

Valves Engineering Consultant, Saudi Aramco

About Me

Essam Al-Arfaj is a Valve Engineering Consultant with more than 25 years of experience in Oil & Gas business in the fields of Engineering, Operation and Maintenance.

Fields of experience includes industrial valves design and pipeline services, like: hot-tap and stopple, pipeline mechanical scraping, pipeline chemical cleaning, pipeline instrument scraping, pipeline corrosion monitoring & control and pipeline simulation.

Essam has a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), and a master degree in Business Administration.

In addition, he is certified as Engineering Consultant by Saudi council of Engineers.

In 1994, he joined Saudi Aramco Pipelines Department and in 2011, he moved to central engineering to work with Consulting Services Department (CSD), where he covers technical leadership and management leadership roles on different engineering aspects.

Essam has vast participations and papers development on multiple conferences and has several published papers related to piping and valves in oil and gas applications.

Essam is currently assigned as a Vice Chairman of ASME Saudi Section

Dr. Husain M. Al-Muslim

About Me

Pipeline Engineering Consultant in Saudi Aramco with more than 22 years of experience working in various Company Sectors including refining, pipelines, distribution, engineering services and project management.

Served as the Chairman of the Piping Standards Committee for 6 years.

On international level, published several papers, participated in many international pipeline conferences and a committee member of the international standard ASME B31.8, and Chairman of the International Review Group IRG of ASME B31.8.

Member of several technical committees of international conferences including member, Research Steering Committee, Pipeline Research Council International.

Husain hold PhD in mechanical engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.

He also taught graduate and undergraduate courses at KFUPM as part time instructor.

Dr. Qasim Saleem

About Me

Qasim Saleem is an Offshore Pipeline Engineering Specialist from Consulting Services Department, Saudi Aramco.

He has more than 16 years of experience in the area of offshore pipeline engineering.

Qasim is a Chartered Engineer from UK Engineering Council.

He has a Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering from UET Lahore, a Master’s degree in advanced mechanical engineering from Imperial College and a PhD in fracture mechanics from Loughborough University.

Before joining Saudi Aramco 8 years ago, Qasim has worked previously with Saipem, Subsea 7, Worley Parsons and Woods Group.

Dr. Feras Al-Fosail

Offshore Pipeline Engineering Specialist, Saudi Aramco

About Me

Feras Alfosail received his BSc degree with distinction in Mechanical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in 2007, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, MSc with honors in Mechanical Engineering from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Thuwal, Saudi Arabia, and PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from the same university in 2019.

He is an Offshore Pipeline Engineer working with Consulting Services Department at Saudi Aramco, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.

He is a certified Professional Engineer, NACE Corrosion Technologist and certified Professional Trainer.

His research interests include the methods of design and repair of submarine pipeline systems.

Dynamics of structural Elements and Large Body Systems.

Prior to joining Consulting Services department, he spend six years working for Terminal Operations at Saudi Aramco as a field engineer.

Nadhir Al-Nasri

Pipelines Engineering Consultant, Saudi Aramco

About Me

An Engineering Consultant in piping and pipeline.

Nadhir worked on piping standards for more than 15 years as chairman and vice chairman.

He has 30 years of experience in the piping and pipeline design engineering, inspection engineering, construction and maintenance.

His experience includes Refinery, Gas Plants, Gas and Oil Separation Plant, Stabilization Plants and Transportation Pipelines.

Nadhir worked as corrosion engineer, testing and inspection engineer, operation engineer and piping and pipeline engineer.

Nadhir worked on revising several engineering standards such as selection of flanges, design of pipelines, piping line classes and piping and pipeline repairs.

In 2012, he developed an engineering standard document addressing pipeline trenchless construction.

He also developed mechanical joint integrity standard.

Nadhir is the developer and the subject matter expert for the mechanical engineering course titled Piping Design, Construction and Maintenance.

Khalid S. Al-Ghamdi

Inspection Engineering Consultant, Saudi Aramco

About Me

Khalid Al Ghamdi has 24 years of Experience with Aramco and has Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

He has several international certificates in his discipline. He worked in many Saudi Aramco Projects and facilities including JV companies. He is the former of ASME Eastern Saudi Section for six (6) years.

Pablo Genta

About Me

Pablo Genta is a senior process automation engineer and technology consultant with PTSD.

He provides consulting services to various Company organizations and primarily to PD&T business lines.

He is a master of Science Electrical Engineer, TUV certified Functional Safety Professional.

Mr. Genta has 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in various countries, holding various positions including front end engineering design, project management, technology research and development.

He is also a technology inventor holding 4 granted patents, one of them in artificial intelligent- expert systems.

He is also experienced in root-cause-analysis, FMEA, process control systems, leak detection systems, instrumentation and control valves engineering design, research and development, test and inspection.

Naim M. Dakwar

External Corrosion Consultant, Saudi Aramco

About Me

Mr. Dakwar was graduated with MS electrical engineering from Kharkov Polytechnical Institute, Ukraine.

He has more than 28 years of experience in cathodic protection, coatings and External Corrosion including monitoring, control and advanced corrosion inspections.

He has been an active member of NACE since 1997 and has been certified as Corrosion Technologist and CP specialist.

Mr. Dakwar is leading the External Corrosion team for Saudi Aramco Pipelines Technical Support Division/Pipelines, Distribution and Terminals.

About Me

Ahmad Almalki has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Master Degree in Power Distribution.

Ahmad is working as Cathodic Protection Specialist Engineer with Projects and Technical Support Department and has more than 16 years of professional experience in both power systems and cathodic protection. Ahmad is a certified PE Engineer and NACE CP Specialist.

Rafael G. Mora

Integrity Management Consultant, Saudi Aramco

About Me

Rafael G. Mora is a Professional Engineer with a broad range of North American and overseas experience in the integrity of hydrocarbon pipelines.

His 25+ years’ experience includes roles in the five (5) pipeline industry sectors: asset owner companies, high-end engineering consultancy, in-line inspection technology services, Canadian federal regulatory and Canadian M.Sc university academia as an U of C Adjunct Professor.

In 2016, he published the engineering book titled “Pipeline Integrity Management Systems – A Practical Approach” with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Press.

In December 2019, he and his team received the 1st Place Award from Saudi Aramco's Advanced Analytics Innovation Campaign for introducing machine learning to Pipeline Integrity.

He improved Saudi Aramco pipeline transmission integrity program processes developing and implementing probabilistic, statistical differential corrosion growth and semi-quantitative risk methodologies and tools.

Mousa R. Al-Harbi

Valves Engineering Consultant, Saudi Aramco

About Me

Mousa Al-Harbi is the Chairman and engineering specialist of Valves Engineering Committee of Saudi Aramco. Also, Mousa is the Piping and Valves Group leader in Consulting Services Department (CSD).

He has a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE), and two master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering, and in Engineering & Technology Management from the Portland State University, USA. Mousa also is P. E. certified engineer.

Mousa started working with Saudi Aramco as a Plant Engineer in North Ghawar Producing Department in 2002 and covered various tasks including plant engineering from the wellhead all the way to in-plant mechanical engineering tasks.

Also, Mousa has vast experiences of maintaining standards and specifications relevant to valves, as well as review and support of Saudi Aramco and Joint Venture projects and operating facilities.

Mousa’s experience covers all type of valves including high pressure upstream API-6A valves, Pipeline applications (API 6D valves) and all other process valves.

Mousa has vast participations and papers development in the industry including Valves World and IVS.

Mousa has several published papers related to piping and valves in oil and gas applications.

He is also a committee member in the Saudi Aramco Instrumentation Committee covering actuators and control and relief valves, and also an active member in international technical societies including ASME and API.

Mousa also is currently serving as Chairman of ASME Saudi Section since July 2018.
