About Me

Mr. Abdallah Al-Ghamdi has 22 years of experience in Pipelines business with Saudi Aramco where he joined on year 1999. He holds MSc degree from University of Manchester, UK, in 2005 and BSc degree from KFUPM, KSA, in 1999.

During his vast experience with Saudi Aramco Pipelines Organization, Mr. Abdallah covered all the Pipelines Business aspects including the pipelines life cycle from planning to decommissioning as well as holding leadership positions of Pipelines engineering, operations, maintenance, business planning and HR.

He has been also the Technical Advisor and consultant for Pipelines Management on key business, technical and strategic transformation programs and initiatives as well as one of the Awardees of Saudi Aramco Excellence Awards for his major contribution as the Technical Leader for the Pipelines Monetization Projects.

Saad M. Al-Shiha

About Me

Engineering Consultant with more than 38 years of experience in Saudi Aramco working in various company sectors including Refining, Pipeline, Mechanical Services Shops, Material Supply, Inspection & Engineering Services.

Since 2010 until his early retirements Saad was assigned as an engineering consultant and technical leader of the valve engineering group part of Consulting Services Department.

On an international level, Saad is recognized as a Subject Mater Expert in the area of valves.

He is a committee member of several international standards and a board member of several association including the Valve World Conference & Exhibition.

His academics include Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from KFUPM, along with several international certificates and specialized training related to the valve engineering.

Essam A. Al-Arfaj

About Me

Essam Al-Arfaj is a Valve Engineering Consultant with more than 25 years of experience in Oil & Gas business in the fields of Engineering, Operation and Maintenance.

Fields of experience includes industrial valves design and pipeline services, like: hot-tap and stopple, pipeline mechanical scraping, pipeline chemical cleaning, pipeline instrument scraping, pipeline corrosion monitoring & control and pipeline simulation.

Essam has a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), and a master degree in Business Administration.

In addition, he is certified as Engineering Consultant by Saudi council of Engineers.

In 1994, he joined Saudi Aramco Pipelines Department and in 2011, he moved to central engineering to work with Consulting Services Department (CSD), where he covers technical leadership and management leadership roles on different engineering aspects.

Essam has vast participations and papers development on multiple conferences and has several published papers related to piping and valves in oil and gas applications.

Essam is currently assigned as a Vice Chairman of ASME Saudi Section

Dr. Waheed Al-Rafaei

About Me

Dr Waheed Alrafaei has over 30 years of work experience related to onshore and offshore pipelines gained by holding various technical and managerial positions in the oil and gas industry in the United Kingdom; United States of America; European Union, United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Bahrain, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Waheed has recently established a pipeline engineering consulting enterprise based in the Kingdom of Bahrain for the provision of pipeline technical and business consulting services with a focus to improve pipeline design and safety, operational performance to excellence.

Key experience includes pipeline design and engineering, integrity and risk management, inspection, surveying, and land use planning for the development of contingency plans, emergency response and security of energy supplies.

Waheed project experience include working as offshore manager during the engineering of Dolphin Energy pipelines and holding the position of pipelines Technical Authority with Shell in North Sea, UK.

Mousa R. Al-Harbi

About Me

Mousa Al-Harbi is the Chairman and engineering specialist of Valves Engineering Committee of Saudi Aramco. Also, Mousa is the Piping and Valves Group leader in Consulting Services Department (CSD).

He has a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE), and two master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering, and in Engineering & Technology Management from the Portland State University, USA. Mousa also is P. E. certified engineer.

Mousa started working with Saudi Aramco as a Plant Engineer in North Ghawar Producing Department in 2002 and covered various tasks including plant engineering from the wellhead all the way to in-plant mechanical engineering tasks.

Also, Mousa has vast experiences of maintaining standards and specifications relevant to valves, as well as review and support of Saudi Aramco and Joint Venture projects and operating facilities.

Mousa’s experience covers all type of valves including high pressure upstream API-6A valves, Pipeline applications (API 6D valves) and all other process valves.

Mousa has vast participations and papers development in the industry including Valves World and IVS.

Mousa has several published papers related to piping and valves in oil and gas applications.

He is also a committee member in the Saudi Aramco Instrumentation Committee covering actuators and control and relief valves, and also an active member in international technical societies including ASME and API.

Mousa also is currently serving as Chairman of ASME Saudi Section since July 2018.

Khalid S. Al-Ghamdi

About Me

Khalid Al Ghamdi has 24 years of Experience with Aramco and has Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

He has several international certificates in his discipline. He worked in many Saudi Aramco Projects and facilities including JV companies. He is the former of ASME Eastern Saudi Section for six (6) years.

Rafael G. Mora

About Me

Rafael G. Mora is a Professional Engineer with a broad range of North American and overseas experience in the integrity of hydrocarbon pipelines.

His 25+ years’ experience includes roles in the five (5) pipeline industry sectors: asset owner companies, high-end engineering consultancy, in-line inspection technology services, Canadian federal regulatory and Canadian M.Sc university academia as an U of C Adjunct Professor.

In 2016, he published the engineering book titled “Pipeline Integrity Management Systems – A Practical Approach” with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Press.

In December 2019, he and his team received the 1st Place Award from Saudi Aramco's Advanced Analytics Innovation Campaign for introducing machine learning to Pipeline Integrity.

He improved Saudi Aramco pipeline transmission integrity program processes developing and implementing probabilistic, statistical differential corrosion growth and semi-quantitative risk methodologies and tools.

Dr. Husain M. Al-Muslim

About Me

Pipeline Engineering Consultant in Saudi Aramco with more than 22 years of experience working in various Company Sectors including refining, pipelines, distribution, engineering services and project management.

Served as the Chairman of the Piping Standards Committee for 6 years.

On international level, published several papers, participated in many international pipeline conferences and a committee member of the international standard ASME B31.8, and Chairman of the International Review Group IRG of ASME B31.8.

Member of several technical committees of international conferences including member, Research Steering Committee, Pipeline Research Council International.

Husain hold PhD in mechanical engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.

He also taught graduate and undergraduate courses at KFUPM as part time instructor.

Mohammed A. Abufour

Inspection Engineering Consultant, Saudi Aramco

About Me

Mohammed Abufour graduated from University of Northampton, UK with B.S. degree in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).

He is a lifetime member of the American Society for Non-Destructive Testing (ASNT) and holds NDT Level III certificates in Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing and Visual Testing (VT).

Mohammed was the recipient of three international awards from ASNT, Technician of Year in 2006, Fellow Award in 2012 and Mentor Award in 2018. Mohammed served as a board of Director of ASNT-USA from 2015 to 2018, and currently he is active member of Saudi Aramco Non-Destructive Standards Committee, ASNT Certification Management Counsel (CMC), ASNT Industry Sector Qualification (Voting member), and ASNT -NDT Engineering Education Committees (USA).

Mohammed is one of the founders of Saudi Arabian Section of the American Society for NDT and currently he is the Vice-President of the society.

Naim M. Dakwar

External Corrosion Consultant, Saudi Aramco

About Me

Mr. Dakwar was graduated with MS electrical engineering from Kharkov Polytechnical Institute, Ukraine.

He has more than 28 years of experience in cathodic protection, coatings and External Corrosion including monitoring, control and advanced corrosion inspections.

He has been an active member of NACE since 1997 and has been certified as Corrosion Technologist and CP specialist.

Mr. Dakwar is leading the External Corrosion team for Saudi Aramco Pipelines Technical Support Division/Pipelines, Distribution and Terminals.

Faisal A. Qari

About Me

Faisal A. Qari has spent over 30 years in Saudi Aramco working across several divisions and while gaining invaluable experience in pipelines and distribution operations, and project management.

Having started his career at Aramco in 1989 as pipeline engineer, up until 2005, he was able to gain extensive field knowledge that allowed him to reorganize engineering processes related to assessing pipeline network integrity in ways that optimized the maintenance development plan by 75%.

Following which from the year 2005 – 2014, he was responsible for operating Wasit Gas Plant & Manifa Crude Stabilizing Plant downstream pipeline units with regards to project design, construction, cost and schedule performance.

As a project manager from 2014 – 2020, he has led a wide range of divisions with diverse teams and together they have achieved the mechanical compilation of pipeline replacement in the northern area to sustain the supply of Arab Light and Arab Medium.

Also had the privilege of directing the Shaybah NGL Pipeline team to recover from the schedule slippage and achieve the mechanical completion certification within the project program milestone.

Pablo Genta is a senior process automation engineer and technology consultant with PTSD.

He provides consulting services to various Company organizations and primarily to PD&T business lines.

He is a master of Science Electrical Engineer, TUV certified Functional Safety Professional.

Mr. Genta has 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in various countries, holding various positions including front end engineering design, project management, technology research and development.

He is also a technology inventor holding 4 granted patents, one of them in artificial intelligent- expert systems.

About Me

Imran is a Chartered Professional Mechanical Engineer with 20 years of hand-on experience in all aspects of Pipeline Engineering that includes design, engineering support, operations & maintenance, commissioning, handovers and decommissioning.

Currently working as Integrity and Corrosion Group Leader in Northern Area Pipelines Department.

Also, led and facilitate Pipelines Risk Assessments, Design Life Reviews, Direct and Indirect Examinations Inspections, Defect Assessments, Incident Investigations, Integrity Reviews, Inline Inspections (ILI) and also engaged in various HAZOPS, HAZIDs, Constructability Reviews, Hydrostatic Testing, Corrosion Protection Surveys, etc.

He has carried out, performed check & review various Pipeline Engineering calculations such as Road and Railway Crossing, Wall Thickness, Resistance to Penetration, Critical Defect Length, Buoyancy, Fitness for Service, Fracture Toughness, Hot Tapping, etc. calculations throughout his professional career

Dr. Zeeshan Lodhi

About Me

Dr. Zeeshan Lodhi is a distinguished professional in the field of Corrosion and Inspection. He holds MS and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science and Corrosion (from TU Delft, the Netherlands).

He is also a NACE Corrosion Specialist and Fellow of the Institute of Corrosion with more than 20 years of experience.

Dr. Zeeshan Lodhi started his Oil & Gas career with Royal Dutch Shell B.V, Amsterdam.

From 2010 to 2020, he worked for Saudi Aramco for 10 years. He served as Inspection Standards Committee Chairman for 4 years and was part of several corporate teams including the Corporate Risk Management team.

He was recognized in 2020 with an Inspection “Excellence Award” for his contributions and innovative ideas.

He introduced several new inspection programs and procedures to enhance the asset integrity of operating plants.

Later in 2020, he worked as Refinery Manager at OQ8 Duqm Refinery Oman (a strategic JV between Kuwait Petroleum and Oman Oil). In his current role, he is working as a Sr. Manager, Mechanical Integrity & Inspection Department, at Dolphin Energy Limited Qatar (a strategic multinational JV among Total Energy, Oxy Limited, and Mubadala Investment UAE). He is leading and managing both Onshore and Offshore mechanical integrity, corrosion & inspection teams.

Dr. Zeeshan Lodhi has 2 Patents and several publications in international journals and is a co-author of the Handbook of Materials Science Research (2010 edition).
